I was so moved, Your Excellency, by the people's stories that I took the liberty of promising them that in future you will only kill them for crimes they commit

Langton Miniatures - Anglo Dutch Starter Pack
This is a starter pack for Langton Miniatures 1/1200th Anglo Dutch War vessels. The pack itself contains two ships (one British and one Dutch), ensigns, rigging materials (net for ratlines as well as black and brown thread) as well as a guide to assembling, painting and rigging these vessels.
It should be noted at this point also that the ship models come with etched brass sails - but if you do not feel that you have sufficient skill to use the brass sails, you can ask for whitemetal and Langton will supply that way. This is what I did the first time but in future will take the brass sails as I can see that they are not that difficult to work with.
The models themselves are typical Langton - superb. The castings are clean and flash free and consist of hull with separate stern casting, separate fore, main and mizzen masts along with a bowsprit. A separate bag contains the sails which, even in white metal, are well sculpted, well shaped and delicate. There are different sail packs available from Langton (full sail, fighting trim, furled and so on). The starter pack came with fighting trim.
Apart from the rigging material, the other item in the starter pack was a a publication on painting and rigging these vessels. This is not as detailed as the Napoleonic Vessel equivalent but a useful publication anyway.
I purchased my pack at Colours 2002 from the Langton stand. I have purchased mail order from Langton before and I can confirm that their mail order service is efficient, with the goods turning up about a week after order (it was international of course).
All in all, a recommened pack and a recommended range of vessels.
