Do not interfere with an army that is returning home. When you surround an army, leave an outlet free. Do not press a desperate foe too hard

Copplestone Castings

Rather than a particular product review, this is more the review of a company. A friend of mine, Murray Woodford, notes the following concerning Copplestone Castings:

Hello all,

I'd just like to share with you all a couple of delightful experiences (in the world of shopping for wargames equipment) I have had recently.

I have standing order with Copplestone Casting for their Back of Beyond range and have regularly receiveing parcels of ever more interesting and bizzare miniatures for the last couple of years.

In a recent relocation I had managed to lose a couple of arms from one of the Bolshevik cavalry boxes and e-mailed the fellow, Tim Peterson, who runs Copplestone's website asking that they be replaced and said I was prepared to pay for the extra items as it was my fault they were lost.

Sure enough, the next order I received had the missing arms included and at no extra charge. In the intervening time I have managed to lose these replacement arms too - yes, I know, it does say more about me than I should readily admit. I mentioned this again to Tim as well as telling him there was a very minor flaw in one of the catsings in the latest order, again accepting responsibility for my foolishness and offering to cover the costs of replacing said parts.

When I returned home today Mark Copplestone had sent me a veritable arms cache <groan> and a replacement miniature out of the blue.

In a similar vein Mark Simms who runs Crusader miniatures has also made dealing with his company a delight. Not only did he replace some flawed Austrian fusiliers and not even ask for postage to cover his expenses, he also has advised customers of his recent releases by e-mail and even offered to hold his release-time bargains open past their date to accomodate a customer who was going through the rigmarole of replacing a lost (or stolen) credit card.

I believe that such outstanding commitment to genuine customer service should not go unrecognised and as such I am passing these tidings on to wargaming chums hoping that this will further enhance the good name of these manufacturers.

All too often we hear of complaints or shortcomings about certain ranges, stockists or manufacturers and it is with genuine pleasure I pass on these little stories of how some manufacturers are really showing us what excellent customer service (as well as quality products) is all about.

So, should anyone reading this be wondering about what sort of service is provided to customers of these companies I can only say that it is excellent in the extreme and a credit to the wargames industry.

Best regards,

Murray.

p.s. I should also say that I am in no way affiliated with either company except as a satisfied customer.

So, there you have it - praise for both Copplestone Castings and for Crusader Miniatures.
