I have a new job and I feel good. I started work this month as the Business Development Manager, Australia and New Zealand for a Belgian company, Callataÿ & Wouters. My boss in Singapore and Head Office in Brussels – I am the last bastion.
However, it is difficult to describe how good I feel. The company is modern and progressive and unlike many other software development organisations, this one seems to undersell its product and its abilities. It is also the only company I have been involved with that does not have a list of reference customers, rather that the company is happy if any of its customers are contacted for references.
I am sure you will hear a lot more from me in the future, however, now it is time to try and recover from the jet lag as I am writing this sitting in Brussels – and what a beautiful city that is. I must admit that walking home tonight at the start of autumn, it reminded me of the time I spent in Norway (well, it reminded me of summer in Trondheim).
With between 700 and 900 different beers in Belgium I am sure I will find a number of reasons to visit head office in the future.
