My wargaming projects were interrupted a little this weekend. I had a great Saturday. I caught up with my old boss from Korea, CW, as he passed through Singapore on his way to India. A few beers and some noodles at the airport set me up nicely for the rest of the night. At 6:00 pm I was off to Beerfest Asia 2011. This is the third year this has been held and hopefully it will remain a regular event on Singapore’s social calendar. It was run over four days and as I mentioned, I was out there on Saturday night.
I had a VIP ticket and was meeting some business colleagues and friends. The VIP ticket gave us a choice of 20 beers, ales and ciders on free-flow for the night. Otherwise, we had the choice to purchase from 280 other tipples. Amongst the beers available on the day was even some Sengur from Mongolia.
There was live music playing in the two beer tents and food was also available. The music being played was by a number of tribute and cover bands including 53A, All Star Beatles Tribute, All Star Blues Brothers, The U2 Show – Achtung Baby and Killer Queen. There was even a Comedians tent with stand-up comics from a number of countries performing.
I decided to keep a photo record of the evening.

OK, I’ll admit it, after the seventh I gave up photographing. I was amused that the water that was provided was from the UK – Harrogate Spring Water – OK, I’d had seven beers at this point and most anything was amusing!
Today, Sunday, I was glad for the fry-up for breakfast but feeling a little second-hand as I cooked it. I can recommend this event and will do everything possible to go again next year.
Hilarious to think that we were at the same event and even in the same VIP area. 🙂 Though I can't believe you had the Pure Blonde, or were you just working your way from one end to the other…and if so what did you think of the Storm (the microbrew from Bali)

I was trying to work my way through .. although unsuccessful at completing all 20. I missed the Storm.
I'll look out for that next year – or next year's equivalent 😆
