A drone to the general public but about a month or so after a UCAS took off from a carrier, then did a touch and go on the carrier, the US Navy has landed a UCAS on the USS George H. W. Bush (CVN 77).
Carrier aircraft pilots are starting to check their pensions.
It should actually be a trivial exercise to successfully land these things on a carrier. Much more interesting is that the exercise to find an RPAS (UAS/UAV/Drone – take yer pick) for the U.S. Navy has been significantly de-scoped to a much less capable vehicle. One, incidentally incapable of delivering what human pilots do, despite the early success of the trials. Funny that.
